Remembering Christmas 2011: Celebrating My Birthday Again!

We didn’t only celebrate the birthday of Jesus in Christmas 2011. Since it was the closest time from my actual birthday that most of the relatives could come, Papa and Mama threw a simple lunch and cake cutting ceremony just for me!

Unfortunately, since I’m still a little shy in the midst of crowds, you can’t really tell from the photos that I’m having a good time,  but trust me, I did have a good time, especially the opening of presents part! hee!

Remembering Christmas 2011: Feeding Fish in Ecopark

I will also remember Christmas 2012 for Kan Pa and Kan Ma who introduced us to this really cool place in Simpang Pulai called Eco Park.

Apparently, many people go there for one simple reason – to feed the fish! And with so many people feeding these fish on a daily basis, it’s no surprise how BIG so of them have become. Sure is scary to little girls like me!

Anyway, these are photos from our evening walk in the EcoPark:

Remembering Christmas 2011: Opening Presents!

So many things happened over the Christmas holidays that we didn’t have time to update our blog in real time. Here, in a three part series, we will share some of the photos of stuff that we did during that super, enjoyable time we had back home in Ipoh with our family and relatives…

Kicking things off is of course the activity of opening presents!

And of course…to top it all off, our Christmas dinner:

Ready for School!

Today’s marks my final day before I step into the next milestone of my growth – kindergarten…

Papa and Mama have already make prior arrangements and registered me to attend this kindergarten that is relatively close by Auntie D’s house.

During registration, I was given the school bag that was (not surprisingly) quite heavy. Inside, I found a stack of books that I will be using for the coming semester..

I was quite disappointed because I was expecting some toys or other fun stuff in the school bag…sigh. Sure hope this kindergarten thingy is not too boring. Too many books is sure a scary sight, sometimes. :-(

Anyway, we were then given two sets of kindergarten uniforms – one for classes and one more more play. The kindergarten boss sure was pretty surprised to see my size, and had to give me an L size for my uniform. At the rate I’m growing, I wonder if this kindergarten will have anything of my size in the coming years! :-P

With my bags, uniform and books checked, Papa had to make sure i didn’t leave out any stationery either…

Ahhh…now, I AM ready for school! :-D

Ushering into 2012!

Moving forward to a new year has always been exciting.

What lies ahead? What’s to look out for? Will it be better than 2011?

These are some of the things I’m looking forward to in 2012:

- Turning FOUR!

- Going to kindergarten – my first taste of school..

- Getting a new baby brother!

- Sunday School reopens!

- More big brother time with Caitlynn!

But whatever it is, I’m pretty sure 2012 is gonna be really bright, so I just gotta put on those shades and move forward in confidence!

Are you looking forward to 2012?

Hair of the Day!

Good Half Words

Speech has continued to be a slow and steady process for me.

Whilst I am able to say quite a number of words with more then one syllable, I still find myself probing and exploring quite a bunch of lengthier words, but only able to speak out the last syllable clearly.

Check out my current list of “half words” as I would call it:

1. Ter (for Water)

2. Per (for Diaper)

3. Ster (for Rooster)

4. Af Feet (for Happy Feet)

5. Self (for Own Self)

6. Stairs (for Upstairs or Downstairs)

7. Amin (for Vitamin)

8. Stmas (for Christmas)

9. Arry (for Carry)

10. Flake (for Corn Flakes)

11. Ker (for Sticker)

12. Skut (for Biscuit)

13. Af-fant (for Elephant)

14. Atee (for Manatee)

15. A-more (for Some More)

16. N-more (for No More)

My Playful Pups

Of all my beloved soft toys (and there are SO many of them!), I need to make a special mention to two of my favourites – my twin puppies!

I cannot really remember where they came from or who bought it, but the fact is that they are now MINE and I simply adore them.

I love them so much that I always treat them like my own pets or babies – which includes constant love, feeding, patting, talking to, etc.

These twin puppies have to be the ones that Mama takes to wash most often, compared to my other soft toys. Shows how much ‘affection’ I show them everyday! Hee!

Most kids will have their favourite blankie or pillow. Some even may have a favourite action figure or plant. As for me, I’ll always have…my playful pups! :-D

A Cool Volcano

Although food is best served piping hot, most times, we would still try to cool it down a little unless we want a burnt tongue!

These are some ways to cool down your hot, hot food:

1. Blow…

2. Turn on the fan…

3. Open the windows…

4. Use hand fan, or any available book, paper…

5. Get Papa or Mama to blow…

6. Go play something or watch TV first…

7. Ice it!

8. Stir it!

9. Smell the food first, whilst waiting…

And my favourite method of all…

10. Make a food VOLCANO….

Lessons from Silent Night: Peaceful

God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle and self-controlled (Galatians 5:22; CEV)

Silent Night – Third Day

Another thing I like about the Christmas season is learning and listening to a whole lot of Christmas songs. My favourite to date is the one called Angels We Have Heard On High, but I prefer to call it Gloria. Even Caitlynn can sing to that one! Hee!

Anyway, one of those days, Papa was playing some Christmas songs from this band called Third Day, when I heard this lovely live rendition of Silent Night…

Me: Papa?

Papa: Yes, Collin?

Me: What song is this Papa?

Papa: This song is Silent Night.

Me: Sky the Night?

Papa: No…it’s called SI-LENT NIGHT

Me: Orh…Silent Night.

Papa: Yes, Collin…Silent Night.

Me: What is Silent, Papa?

Papa: Silent is *Shhhhhhhhh*

Me: Huh?

Papa: Shhhhhhhh…as in staying quiet…

Me: Orh…staying quiet.

Papa: Yup.

Me: Staying quiet like staying peaceful, right?

Papa: Yes, Collin.

Me: Just like my memory verse number five…

Papa: What’s that, Collin?

Me: God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, PEACEFUL, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle and self-controlled. Like that lor.

Papa: That’s right, Collin! :-D
