Sleep

Catnaps

if there was an animal to describe me at this phase of my life, a CAT would probably come close.

Not only is the first part of my name sounds really close to to a cat, I also naturally find myself preferring numerous short naps, compared to one long sleep.

Wonder if that’s the reason why Papa and mama are always rushing around to get things done whenever I have one of my catnaps? Hee!

Diva Divan

I still don’t understand what it is with adults and their fascination (or obsession, rather) for nice comfy mattresses. You will see all sorts of weird elements people would look for when buying a mattress, such as double, triple, quadruple coil springs, coconut husks or fibre, memory latex, Macpherson struts suspensions…

Anyway, for me, the best bed in the world would still be the natural mattress of Papa and Mama. Certainly beats any of the artificial mattreses out there! Hee!

Tummy Napping

Koko Collin was right! Well, this time anyway..

Recently, I discovered how much fun and comfortable it is to sleep on my tummy! Now that I’ve mastered the flip-over move, getting into the ‘tummy napping’ position isn’t too difficult.

At least now, it would be easier to pat my backside to help me go to sleep too! Hee!

My first pen(t)house!

One of the most exciting things about coming back to KL after Mama’s confinement is this – I get my own pen(t)house! Erm…ok, playpen, that is… the only strange thing about the playpen is that I’m not sure if I’m expected to ’sleep’ inside the ‘play’pen? And if I am, why do they have those distracting stuff hovering above me. Are they supposed to hypnotised me to dreamland? Hmmmm

Nevertheless, it is really quite a  comfy place to be, and besides, it does keep me fairly safer from that mischievous brother of mine. Hee!

Going Undercover

What is it that fuels us to keep us going?

The intrigue.

The mystery.

The unknown.

The suspense of an exciting life.

Of espionage.

Of spy-games.

Of heroism.

Or perhaps of strange habits.

Of laziness. sleepiness. drowsiness.

Ah…the complexities of such.

Is it the comfort? The snugglishness? The security?

I simply call it the JOY.

The joy of sleep. Of the blanket. Of the pillows. Of my toys.

Of going UNDERCOVER.

I’ve Got A Feeling…

…that whenever my eyes close and I go to sleep, weird things are happening all around me. You may call it women’s intuition or sick cents or whatever, but I always have a feeling of being watched and analysed.

Sometimes I swear I could even feel someone’s breath creepily close to my face. Yeah, I know…it’s a scary feeling alright.

Perhaps, I shouldn’t be sleeping too much then. Hmmmm..

A weekend of many firsts…

Some may call it an exciting, action-packed weekend. I prefer to call it a milestone weekend of many firsts.

Last weekend as my first weekend in KL after spending much of my two- months being confined with Mama in Ah Por and Ah Koong’s house in Sitiawan. So I was rather excited to see what usually happens on KL weekends. As it turns out, last weekend, I experienced many things for the very first time. Wee!

It was my first time out SHOPPING! It was kinda funny. We went through a lot of car traffic jams leading into the shopping mall, and experienced human traffic jams inside! Not sure if I thoroughly enjoyed it, but am looking out for future experiences before deciding if I like it or not. Koko Collin certainly seems to enjoy sitting on the huge steel trolley though. Hmmmm.

It was my first visit to CHURCH! Many uncles and (especially) aunties keep coming up to have a (really) close look at me. I would have half thought all of them needed glasses or something. Anyway, it was pretty exciting and also noisy in the baby room with other older kids. Certainly welcomed the air-cond with the burning heat outdoors. Hee!

It was my first FOOTBALL match with Papa! Finally got to see what the fuss this sport was all about. Koko Collin only managed to see one goal before he went off to bed whilst I stayed around and watched three more goals as this almost-bald guy from Papa’s team scored four goals past the other team called Hull.

Really tired after all those activities. Time again for my beauty sleep…and that’s definitely not a first.. :-p

Sleepstanding

My mastery of the art called sleeping has recently scaled new levels.

Not only am I able to sleep just about anywhere in any position lying down, I am now also able to sleep while standing! Yeah, I know it sounds freaky but it’s true. OK, maybe I needed a little help from the sofa, but it’s still no easy task!

Months of practicing this stance has finally paid off. Hee! Now, on to practicing doing it with my eyes open. Bet that’ll be a challenge.

I wonder if MeiMei Caitlynn is interested to learn this useful art. Hmmm.

Taking Turns

Sorry Mama.

We know that the past month and a half of confinement with Koko Collin and myself has been quite tiring and tough for Mama at times.

Please understand that our extraordinary timing is something we cannot control. Mama should know what I’m talking about. Remember those days and (usually) nights that both of us would naughtily take turns to cry and wake Mama up, depriving you of your precious sleep and rest.

And there were also those times where the two of us would take turns to poop – one after another. I know washing our bum bums like a factory line is not a pleasant thing to do.

And there were also those times we would take turns to plead for your attention…

We know you can’t wait to go back so that you could then take turns with Papa to help out, eh? Tell you what – we’re excited to be going back home soon too! :-D

My First Moon!

Koko Collin warned me about days like these.

You know, the ones where the adults will celebrate a big event at expense of your name in a big way but the main VIP, ie ME, don’t even get a sniff at those wonderful dishes on display. Hmmph.

It was 26 Dec 2009. Yup, it was the day I collected my first moon and celebrated it with some of my relatives, many of whom I only met for the first time that day.  Papa and Mama did  a similar do as when Koko Collin ‘celebrated’ his first moon by arranging for a lunch at Hotel Excelsior, Ipoh.

I behaved like a good girl and slept throughout the entire lunch thingy. Hey, if everyone else was busy chomping away, there isn’t much I can do, right? Hmmph. I don’t think I was passed around as much as Koko Collin. Probably because nobody wanted to be the ‘one who woke her up’. Hehe.

Instead of the traditional angkus and red eggs that adults like to distribute on occasions such as this, Papa and Mama decided to opt for a contemporary twist by distributing cute cupcakes with baby-themed icings on top. I heard they were specially baked and ordered online from Apple Kitchen in KL! Apart from the normal cupcakes, there was also this box of 25 mini cupcakes to be tasted by my guests after lunch. Simply love the cute decorations and oh, eight of them had my NAME written on it too! Thanks Papa and Mama! Too bad, I couldn’t taste them. Hee!

Here are some photos taken during this wonderful occasion!

Lovely greeting on the lovely box with lovely cupcakes!

Aren't they cute?! :-)

Shhhh...I'm sleeping...

My full moon attitude pose. Hehe

Me and my favourite grandmas! Hee!
