Two Sundays ago, I had the privilege to attend my first ever Junior Sunday School ‘Prize Cupboard Day’ in our church. It was supposedly the final ever sunday school session for the year. No wonder the teachers looked extra happy that morning.

Anyway, I still haven’t figured out why or how the name ‘Prize Cupboard Day’ came about because for the rest of that morning, we were gathered in the school field and made to play some carnival-like games under the hot morning sun! Nope. Definitely no sight of any cupboard. Not even a drawer. Nor wood..

Come to think of it, I still haven’t figured out why we were made to play all those games too. No points were given. No prizes. Not much rules. Hmmmm. It felt like an extended session of our Family Fun Day held earlier this year. Guess the teachers didn’t have enough fun (and sun tan) that time… well, that’s my theory anyway.

After the morning session, we were then led back to our rooms where we were all given goodie bags filled with stickers, folders, toy car, potato chips and other stuff! Wee! Unfortunately, there was still no sign of any cupboard..

Anyway, despite all the confusion and mystery of the Day itself, I still had a lot of fun…more so because of the goodie bag! Hee!
