Remembering Christmas 2011: Opening Presents!

So many things happened over the Christmas holidays that we didn’t have time to update our blog in real time. Here, in a three part series, we will share some of the photos of stuff that we did during that super, enjoyable time we had back home in Ipoh with our family and relatives…

Kicking things off is of course the activity of opening presents!

And of course…to top it all off, our Christmas dinner:

Our Christmas Tree

Yay! It’s that time of the year again!

The season of giving and receiving, of family and friends, of presents and food, of hope and love…and of course, of trees, decor and lights!

Yes, Christmas is indeed coming soon!

About two weeks ago, Papa and Mama finally took out the all-important boxes filled with the seasonal greens and decorations and lights. Caitlynn is about a year older now since we last put up the tree so she was able to help a bit more than just stare at us last year. Hee! Well, actually, she did more running around the tree compared to last year, but I’m pretty sure she will be an asset in tearing down the tree after Christmas..:-p

Yup, setting up the family Christmas tree is always great fun and activity for the entire family. Although the entire process didn’t take too long (guess we’re getting pro at this), the time spent hanging the bells and balls with one another is great quality time that simply cannot be missed!

And the joy of watching the lights come on is just irresistible!

Here are photos of the us putting up the tree and decor…all in good time for Christmas!

Whew…what fun!

Now, all we need are the pressies! :-D

My Birthday Images

Last Saturday, I celebrated my 2nd birthday in a fairly simple manner – Papa, Mama and Koko Collin took me out to Fridays for dinner. Apparently my cousins Hannah and Ethan were also in town so they also dragged their parents to join in the dinner too!

Needless to say, I was pretty overwhelmed by the ‘crowd’….but I really did enjoy myself…especially the cake and the opening of presents!

Here’s me remembering my 2nd birthday celebration through some photos!:

Hmmm...what shall I wish for?...

To the left, to the left..

To the right, to the right...

Hmmm....when can we open the presents?

My bro Collin and cousin Ethan really had a great time together!

yeah, the food too!

My strawberry vanilla cake....mmmmmm!

The live entertainment show...

Sing song time! :-D

Looks like every kid wants to be in the fire brigade...:-P

Super big sundae on the house...it's even bigger than my head! :-P

I got to sleep later that night too...because more presents awaited me at home! Wee!

Big Puzzles = Big Fun!

Size does matter.

Whether it is a bowl of black noodles, or the size of the TV screen, or the field to run in, size of Jacuzzi bathtub, size always does matters. And usually, the bigger it is, the better or more fun things become.

How true it is for jigsaw puzzles too. I know putting back jigsaw puzzles has always fascinated me, but things become extra fun very quickly when the puzzle pieces are jumbo sized! I kid you not.

Check out the fun we had during one of those family activity sessions, playing with a giant jigsaw puzzle…

Teamwork! Yeah!

It's coming together!

Almost there!

Completed! Now we can search and play! :-D

I found it!

Biggest challenge was not putting them together…it was finding a suitable box to keep the pieces after we’ve finished playing! Haha…

A Celebration of 1,000 Blogs!

Collin: Hey Caitlynn! Do you know that today is a very special day?

Caitlynn: Really? What day is it? Are they screening Tiger and Pooh marathon?

Collin: No, no…today’s blog marks our (drumroll..) 1,000th blog! It’s taken us a while, but we’ve finally made it to this historical milestone!

Caitlynn: WOW! 1,000th blog! Err..is that a lot?

Collin: Not too sure, butt there’s definitely more than 2 zeros behind the number 1…

Caitlynn: So, can we call it a centennial celebration?

Collin: Nope. Centennial is for celebrating 100 years or something

Caitlynn: So, what do we call a celebration of 1,000 somethings?

Collin: No idea. A Dollarnial, perhaps?

Caitlynn: I’ve heard of some people calling it a millennial celebration

Collin: Ahhh….that sounds kinda right!

Caitlynn: Err…so Koko, what do we actually do in a 1000th blog celebration like today?

Collin: Hmmm…good question. Honestly, I never even dreamed of reaching this number in our blog count! Now that we’re here, I seriously don’t know what to blog about!

Caitlynn: I know, I know! Koko, I’m pretty sure from your hundreds of blog postings to-date, you would have some personal favourites right? Perhaps we could celebrate our 1000th blog by thinking and sharing some of them with our readers?

Collin: Gee…you’re right, Caitlynn. But personally, as far as blogging goes, it’s pretty hard to pick out my personal favourites. Some blogs have more special significance whilst others were just downright silly!

Caitlynn: Haha…yeah, I guess you’re right. So, what do you propose, Koko?

Collin: Hmmmm….do you know that one of my favourite parts of blogging is when we need to put a title to the blog?

Caitlynn: Oh yeah! I totally agree. And I think over these 1,000 blogs, we did come up with some pretty clever and funny blog titles, didn’t we?

Collin: Yeah, we sure did! Hey, how about we list down 10 of our favourite blog titles?

Caitlynn: Sounds good! You wanna have a crack at it first?

Collin: Gosh, OK…gimme a minute…there’s quite a bunch to choose from…

Caitlynn: Haha…take your time. I have a much shorter list. Hee!

Collin: Ok ok….I got it! In no particular order, I present 10 of my favourite blog titles:

Caitlynn: Hey, I kinda remembered you can be quite the poet also, huh?

Collin: Hmmm…yeah, especially during times when I feel inspired! Ha.

Caitlynn: So, can you think of three of your favourite blog postings that is related to poetry?

Collin: Sure! This shouldn’ t be too difficult. Hmmm..let’s see….the first three that come to my head are:

1. Resourceful Rat

2. O Medicine!

3. Poop Prose

Caitlynn: Haha…yeah, I remember how gross your Poop Prose was…Ewwww!

Collin: Hey, Caitlynn…what about yourself? What are your favourite poetry postings?

Caitlynn: Well, the three blogs that immediately come to me are:

1. Baby Rapper

2. Facing the Unknown

3. Remotely Poetic

Collin: Ahhh…good picks! Your Facing the Unknown was truly a strong piece of work.

Caitlynn: Awww, thanks Koko! Hey, what about videos?

Collin: Yeah, what about them?

Caitlynn: Do you remember what were your favourite video postings?

Collin: Hmmm….I can think of three that were ‘outstanding’ in their own way…

1. Prancing Potty

2. Rat in Action

3. Turn Around Jam!

Caitlynn: Ah….your Rat in Action videos are legendary already!

Collin: Haha….I still cannot believe I was actually that small when the video was shot!

Caitlynn: Indeed! Haha..

Collin: Hey, what about your videos?

Caitlynn: Hmmm…I don’t think I ever shot as many videos compared to you, but three that I can recall were..

1. Paparazzi

2. I like to move it, move it!

3. Little Line Dancer

Collin: Oh…you forgot that one-time solo performance you pulled off in front of the entire church congregation!

Caitlynn: No, no, no…

Collin: Yes, yes, yes! That literal ‘screamer’ that you did during our baptism?

Caitlynn: Gasp! My Baptism Solo is one truly embarassing video!

Collin: I don’t know…it kinda showcases your vocal range! Hehe..

Caitlynn: Grrrr….

Collin: Hey, chill, chilll! Caitlynn, do you remember how both of us also have our very own songs?

Caitlynn: Hey, you’re right! Papa’s self-written song for me always did make me feel special.

Collin: Yeah, same here. Do you still remember your song post?

Caitlynn: Of course! How could I forget Your Name is Pure?

Collin: And neither could I forget the song Papa wrote for me - Through Your Eyes

Caitlynn: Yeah, that’s a beautiful one.

Collin: Yup. Hey, thanks for the quick banter today. I believe we actually dialogued enough to fill up the content for our 1,000th blog!

Caitlynn: Yeah, Koko! And I think reminiscing about some of our past blog postings is the perfect way to celebrate us hitting 1,000 blogs, huh?

Collin: Yeah…it sure has been a tiring journey I have to admit!

Caitlynn: Agreed! You got the energy to mount another assault for 2,000 blogs?

Collin: Gee..I really don’t know MeiMei….

Caitlynn: What do you mean? You’re not gonna quit now, are you?

Collin: No, no..it’s just I’m already feeling kinda tired. Coming up with fresh content and blogging almost everyday can be pretty exhausting, ok?

Caitlynn: Yeah, I guess you’re right. I am kinda feeling the stress too. So you reckon we will not be able to continue the momentum for this blog or even reach 2,000 blogs anytime soon? Sigh.

Collin: Erm…not really. I believe we have a solution…

Caitlynn: Really, I’m all ears…

Collin: Ok. Listen up. Have you noticed Mama’s tummy has been growing bigger and bigger every day?

Caitlynn: Erm…yeah…so?

Collin: Unlike Papa’s tummy, I don’t think it’s food inside…

Caitlynn: OOOOooh….you mean…

Collin: Yup….we’re gonna have another baby!

Caitlynn: Ahhh! so that’s what Mama meant when she kept asking us to sayang her tummy!

Collin: And you know that a new baby means?

Caitlynn: Oh…Yeah! One word…

Collin: Delegation!

Caitlynn: You read my mind!

Collin: We can now delegate much of the blogging duties to our new pup when he arrives next year…

Caitlynn: Awww…I’m loving the new pup already! Anyway, how sure are you of this new pup?

Collin: I have proof! Remember those appointments with the doctor Mama goes to on a monthly basis?

Caitlynn: Yeah?

Collin: The doc took this photo the other day and it ended up on my fridge!

Caitlynn: Oh, really? I must still be too short to see it. From my view, it looks like some odd black and white newspaper clipping..

Collin: Far from it! And just because we are in the celebration mood today, here’s an exclusive sneak peek of our newest pup, expected to come home to our kennel around Feb 2012…

Caitlynn: Yeah, I’m pretty excited too!

Collin: And I think that would be the perfect way to cap our 1,000th blog celebration!

Caitlynn: Totally agree! To all our readers, thanks for reading our adventures of growing up through all 1,000 blogs so far!

Collin: And we hope you will continue to support and read on, especially after we welcome another new member to our family soon!

Caitlynn: Yeah, and when the new pup comes in, we’ll FINALLY outnumber Papa and Mama! Hehe…

Collin: Hehe…I couldn’t agree more! :-D
