It has come again. After almost a month of waiting in stress (and cute dresses..), my tongue operation is scheduled for tomorrow morning, around 8 something. My time to face the unknown is going to happen. After the unexpected reprieve of the holiday mix-up by the hospital, I shall have to muster up all the courage I have and continue to hum in my head that Veggie tale song that “God is bigger” than this operation…
Of course, I would greatly appreciate all the prayers and support from everyone! On the positives, I just can’t wait to test out my new and improved yells and screams after the operation! Hee!

scary times ahead - please pray for me!

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes! I’m already feeling much better today. Still got a bit of cough but I think my fever is gone! (hopefully forever…hehe).
I am able to smile and stand like usual now…:-D
“Hey, Caitlynn…what d’ya say? Tell us what you learnt today?!”
Things I learnt from this harrowing episode:
1. When in early stages of flu, one can still go for the throat swab test….faster and cheaper too. In my case, it was either the full complete test (1 day result) or immediate treatment
2. H1N1 is no longer a pandemic, it’s now an endemic. END does sound more scary than PANDA but in essence it means there is no longer a need to quarantine someone with its symptoms or anyone with contact with the infected. It’s now (jeng jeng jeng) EVERYWHERE… so everyone just needs to practice personal hygiene and go see doctor when sick lor..
3. Tamiflu may sound cute but it is definitely NOT NICE to swallow…
4. Medicines are scary.
5. Papa, Mama and Koko Collin are great to have around, in sickness and in health! Hee!
6. God loves me and He answers prayers!
This has been a really scary and sickening (pun intended) week for me. Had minor signs of being sick as we travelled home for the weekend. Saw one doctor in Sitiawan and when we came back to KL, I went to visit another one last night.
And when you see two different doctors in the same week, you just know it’s not gonna be a good week…
My cough was getting worse, I was drinking a lot of phelgm, my temperature would shoot up on a regular basis (even though I’m not angry), and my nose started to run a bit. And since this also kinda affected my beauty sleep and feeding, Auntie D suggested that I should see the doc straightaway.
So, last night, the doc did some hearing and testings on me and said there could be some water that had already entered my lungs…and since my condition is very similar to the H1N1 flu thingy, my only options were to do a complete test, which I would only know the result in like 24 hours, or straightaway take the tamiflu medication as a precaution as if I had already contracted the flu.
Papa decided that since I was in the high risk category, taking the test wouldn’t be a good option so I have started on my tamiflu medication since last night. Apart from that, I’m also swallowing some bronchosaurus-whatever medicine for my cough, some anti-biotics and PCM for my fever. Sigh. How could Koko Collin love taking medicine so much?! I’m beginning to be really terrified of them!
Yeah, it’s really scary times for me so I would appreciate all prayers, yah. Hope to be my bouncy, cheerful, smiley self soon!
Apparently, I am not the only one in the state of the unknown about my tongue operation. I just found that that the location where my op will be is also UNKNOWN!
Yeah, isn’t that funny? The doctor nor his PA nor anyone else that works in the hospital cannot be sure if it is in Selangor or KL. So since this friday is supposed to be a state holiday for Selangor, we were just informed that the hospital suddenly came under Selangor area and thus would be closed this Friday! Haha…not.
So, Papa and Mama has since rescheduled my D-Day to 24 Sep 2010. Probably it’s a good thing too since I just contracted some cough and fever over last weekend and is only recovering now.
God does work in mysterious ways. Hee!

Scary moments ahead...
When you have to face the unknown
Of going where you have never gone
Where courage is stocked at a minimum
And uncertainty overflows at a premium
I pray and look to God to provide
Strength, hope and friends by my side
To overcome this scary ordeal
And to quickly recover and heal
This Friday, I’m scheduled to go for a tongue releasing operation in the morning. For a baby, it really is the stuff of horrors. I have completely no idea of the scariness of it – which is pretty, erm, scary! Anyway, I could only read of what happened when Koko Collin went through this similar episode before and I know that many people prayed for him that time and I also believe that God answers prayers!
So, I would appreciate all prayers for this coming Friday as I boldly crawl into the operation theatre…
What an eventful CNY for me indeed. Over my one-week holiday in Ipoh and Sitiawan, I received the following…

..red packets...and MORE red packets! Love these Ang Pows!

...a surprise pre-birthday celebration! Wee! So much fun!

...hampers to tear open! they are still taller than me though...hmmph!
...breathing in natural seaside breeze and air!

chasing (and being chased) and posing with real-life chickens!

...tripping over and had an accident with the coffee table, cutting a deep gash near my left eye, on the day before we left for KL...

...blood, sweat and tears to end my CNY holiday...sigh...
A couple of weeks ago, Mama noticed a lump or a small boil growing on the eyelid of my right eye. Although it wasn’t painful, it did feel rather itchy at times, and quite irritating too. And since I’m a girl, I guess these things would definitely matter more to me. :-p
Papa looked it up and said it could be something known as ‘sty’ or another variant called colazoin or something spelt like that. The articles also gave some handy tips of clearing this up. Amazing how this wonder called the Internet can also be known as a virtual doctor. Hee!
Thus began Mama’s daily routine of putting a damp warm cloth on the infected area. After a few days, the discharge came out on its own and I’m sty-free! Yay!
Anyhow, during a visit to the doc to get my second jab, he confirmed that it is that colazoin thingy (can’t they just call it sty v2 or something simpler?!), and asked Papa and Mama to continue monitoring my eyes…which shouldn’t be a problem because the gleam in my eyes just seems to attract everyone to monitor me closely…hee!
Went to see my doc last weekend to get another jab for another strange virus I cannot even pronounce. Anyway, I think I heard it was some sort of a booster jab. Doc was really pro in this as he played some jingle as he was preparing the needle. As I was getting distractedly engrossed with the music, the needle went in and out just as the music stopped and I didn’t even feel a thing. Now if only those mozzies can learn a thing or two here. Hmmmph.
