Our CNY Diaries: Part 4/5

We left Ipoh and travelled south a little while before reaching…Sitiawan, home of AhPor/Ah Koong!

Too bad for Koko Collin his Kan Pa/Kan Ma had already left for KL on the same day too. Anyway, still got KuDeh Wei and Ah Mai Pei Yee to play with!

Here are photos of stuff we did in Sitiawan during the CNY period!

GOAL!!!

Wanna play? :-D

Ah Mai's got skilz!

And that’s called finishing the day with a BANG! :-D

We’ll conclude our CNY Photo Diaries tomorrow with more fun stuff that we did in Sitiawan before heading for home. What did we do?

Check out tomorrow for the conclusion of our CNY Diaries!

Our CNY Diaries: Part 3/5

We continue our CNY Photo Diaries with…

…my BIRTHDAY CAKE! Woo Hoo! Well, it was actually a pre-4th Birthday celebration…but I don’t really mind at all! By the way, it was a cake of my own choosing, OK….Papa insists he had no influence whatsoever on my decision…

Enjoy photos of my simple pre-birthday do in Ipoh!

I huffed and puffed and..

Trust me..it is NOT easy cutting a football cake!

WAH!!!!

Eyes on the ball...eyes on the ball...

Can't keep my eyes off the ball! (Papa has taught me well..)

Hannah: Sigh....boys....

Then we proceeded to open some presents…and look what Papa and Mama got for me!

A mini guitar!….NOT! According to Papa, this is not a toy guitar, but is actually a real musical instrument called the UKULELE. Whew, that was a mouthful.:-P Anyway, Papa says he will try to learn how to play this as soon as he can and then teach me…:-D

I’m so excited because this UKULELE seems to be able to draw lotsa attention wor!

Oooh...nice strings! :-D

And of course there was more play time…like this new box of jigsaw puzzles…:-D

And that’s a wrap of my pre-4th birthday celebrations!

Shortly after, my cousins Ethan and Hannah followed their parents home. We also packed up and left Ipoh towards our next destination during this CNY period…

Where did we go? What did we do there?

Find out tomorrow! :-D

Our CNY Diaries: Part 2/5

Continuing our CNY Photo Diaries, we ushered in Day 1 of the Year of the Dragon in Ipoh with ang pows, lion dances, family photos, and more!. Enjoy!

The Chinese New became more fun in the afternoon when my cousins Ethan and Hannah came over with their Daddy and Mummy to play with us! :-D

After dinner, we all took a stroll over to Kinta City, Ipoh where they had a special lion dance performance…

Unfortunately, the plan kinda backfired because when we arrived the crowd had already taken all the best positions to view the show. Some more the noise was too loud and deafening! Caitlynn went immediately into her “Scared, Scared” mode….while I just closed my ears shut!

When we came home, a surprise was waiting for us all! A chocolatey-goodness birthday cake was brought out to pre-celebrate Ethan Koko’s birthday!

The birthday boy!

Day 2 of CNY started off with more silly and happy family photos!

And how can I have a reunion with Ehtan Koko without a pillow fight?…

Oops…since this is a family-friendly blog, I have decided to censor out the violence of our pillow fight…:-P

So who won  in the end? Who cares?! We were both hungry already! Let’s EAT!

So what did we eat? What happened next?

Stay tuned for tomorrow when all shall be revealed!

Our CNY Diaries: Part 1/5

Phew! It’s been exactly two weeks since Day 1 of Chinese New Year 2012 and both Caitlynn and I can still feel the fun, laughter, joys, etc. of everything that we did during that time. Oh yeah, we got pretty tired too at most nights..hee!

As usual, since it would be too long to blog every single detail of our CNY escapades, we will break up our CNY holiday wrap up in FIVE different parts – load them up with photos taken during this festive season.

Our Photo Diaries begins a day before the eve of CNY….

It was quite a journey from our home to Ah Ma/Ah Kong’s house in Ipoh. Funny, it didn’t feel this far before. Probably because we travelled in the afternoon this time. Papa decided to veer off the highway after seeing a stretch of cars not moving at all ahead shortly after the toll. Alas! The coastal road was just as bad as we crawled and crawled and crawled along up towards Ipoh.

I had also lost count of how many times or how many different kind of drains I had peed into during the journey. In a way, I was quite thankful we took the coastal/trunk road so Papa could very easily stop by the side of the road for such toilet emergencies..:-P

It was already evening and we had not even reached the trunk road yet. So Mama suggested that we stop over for dinner at this place called “Crossing Jungle” or Hutan Melintang. Surprisingly, they had quite a few seafood restaurants. Strange for a jungle to be popular with seafood, dontchu think?

Anyway, here’s where I stop babbling and post our photos taken from our dinner in Restoran Soon Kee..

By the time we reached Ipoh, it was already quite  late, but we’re happy to have arrived safely!

Fast forward a day later where Ah Ma and Ah Kong prepared some simple dishes for our nice little family reunion dinner – and I have to say all the food looked and tasted really yummy!

Check out my super appetite!

nom nom nom...

And that’s the end of Part 1! Stay tuned to see what happened during Day 1 of CNY tomorrow!

GONG XI FA CAI!

Remembering Christmas 2011: Celebrating My Birthday Again!

We didn’t only celebrate the birthday of Jesus in Christmas 2011. Since it was the closest time from my actual birthday that most of the relatives could come, Papa and Mama threw a simple lunch and cake cutting ceremony just for me!

Unfortunately, since I’m still a little shy in the midst of crowds, you can’t really tell from the photos that I’m having a good time,  but trust me, I did have a good time, especially the opening of presents part! hee!

Remembering Christmas 2011: Feeding Fish in Ecopark

I will also remember Christmas 2012 for Kan Pa and Kan Ma who introduced us to this really cool place in Simpang Pulai called Eco Park.

Apparently, many people go there for one simple reason – to feed the fish! And with so many people feeding these fish on a daily basis, it’s no surprise how BIG so of them have become. Sure is scary to little girls like me!

Anyway, these are photos from our evening walk in the EcoPark:

well fed fish....

Remembering Christmas 2011: Opening Presents!

So many things happened over the Christmas holidays that we didn’t have time to update our blog in real time. Here, in a three part series, we will share some of the photos of stuff that we did during that super, enjoyable time we had back home in Ipoh with our family and relatives…

Kicking things off is of course the activity of opening presents!

And of course…to top it all off, our Christmas dinner:

Ushering into 2012!

Moving forward to a new year has always been exciting.

What lies ahead? What’s to look out for? Will it be better than 2011?

These are some of the things I’m looking forward to in 2012:

- Turning FOUR!

- Going to kindergarten – my first taste of school..

- Getting a new baby brother!

- Sunday School reopens!

- More big brother time with Caitlynn!

But whatever it is, I’m pretty sure 2012 is gonna be really bright, so I just gotta put on those shades and move forward in confidence!

Are you looking forward to 2012?

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
