Remembering Christmas 2011: Celebrating My Birthday Again!
We didn’t only celebrate the birthday of Jesus in Christmas 2011. Since it was the closest time from my actual birthday that most of the relatives could come, Papa and Mama threw a simple lunch and cake cutting ceremony just for me!
Unfortunately, since I’m still a little shy in the midst of crowds, you can’t really tell from the photos that I’m having a good time, but trust me, I did have a good time, especially the opening of presents part! hee!

Remembering Christmas 2011: Feeding Fish in Ecopark
I will also remember Christmas 2012 for Kan Pa and Kan Ma who introduced us to this really cool place in Simpang Pulai called Eco Park.
Apparently, many people go there for one simple reason – to feed the fish! And with so many people feeding these fish on a daily basis, it’s no surprise how BIG so of them have become. Sure is scary to little girls like me!
Anyway, these are photos from our evening walk in the EcoPark:

Remembering Christmas 2011: Opening Presents!
So many things happened over the Christmas holidays that we didn’t have time to update our blog in real time. Here, in a three part series, we will share some of the photos of stuff that we did during that super, enjoyable time we had back home in Ipoh with our family and relatives…
Kicking things off is of course the activity of opening presents!
And of course…to top it all off, our Christmas dinner:
Ushering into 2012!

Moving forward to a new year has always been exciting.
What lies ahead? What’s to look out for? Will it be better than 2011?
These are some of the things I’m looking forward to in 2012:
- Turning FOUR!
- Going to kindergarten – my first taste of school..
- Getting a new baby brother!
- Sunday School reopens!
- More big brother time with Caitlynn!
But whatever it is, I’m pretty sure 2012 is gonna be really bright, so I just gotta put on those shades and move forward in confidence!

Are you looking forward to 2012?
Our Christmas Tree
Yay! It’s that time of the year again!
The season of giving and receiving, of family and friends, of presents and food, of hope and love…and of course, of trees, decor and lights!
Yes, Christmas is indeed coming soon!
About two weeks ago, Papa and Mama finally took out the all-important boxes filled with the seasonal greens and decorations and lights. Caitlynn is about a year older now since we last put up the tree so she was able to help a bit more than just stare at us last year. Hee! Well, actually, she did more running around the tree compared to last year, but I’m pretty sure she will be an asset in tearing down the tree after Christmas..:-p
Yup, setting up the family Christmas tree is always great fun and activity for the entire family. Although the entire process didn’t take too long (guess we’re getting pro at this), the time spent hanging the bells and balls with one another is great quality time that simply cannot be missed!
And the joy of watching the lights come on is just irresistible!
Here are photos of the us putting up the tree and decor…all in good time for Christmas!

Whew…what fun!
Now, all we need are the pressies!
Lessons from the Shoebox: Happy
God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle and self-controlled (Gal 5:22; CEV)
This year’s Christmas is one that Caitlynn and I will always remember…
A couple of weeks ago, Papa and Mama told both of us that some of the church youth were requesting for shoe-boxes of goodies to be given to some poor rural children as Christmas presents. They explained in detail that there are many children out there who are not as blessed in material things like us and these shoe-boxes was one simple way for us to show our love and care to them. Just a simple gesture which would surely bring them joy and make them happy!
So, we got excited and went shopping thereafter in some toy and stationery shop to buy loads of goodies for these children, keeping well in mind that we were not buying anything for ourselves that evening!
After the items had been purchased, we excitedly went home and found two shoe-boxes to fill them up….mission completed!
Packing it in!

Goodies galore!

Mission completed!
Lessons I learnt throughout the entire shoe-box project:
1. We were so HAPPY during the shopping time even with the knowledge that none of it was for us!
2. We were so HAPPY packing the shoe-boxes with the gifts that we didn’t even bother to see what had been packed inside finally!
3. We were so excited and HAPPY giving the boxes away!
4. We know that the rural kids receiving these shoe-boxes will be thrilled and HAPPY too!
5. And finally just the thought of knowing the joy and love these shoe-boxes brings to them makes us HAPPY!
God’s Spirit does indeed makes us HAPPY!
My Birthday Images
Last Saturday, I celebrated my 2nd birthday in a fairly simple manner – Papa, Mama and Koko Collin took me out to Fridays for dinner. Apparently my cousins Hannah and Ethan were also in town so they also dragged their parents to join in the dinner too!
Needless to say, I was pretty overwhelmed by the ‘crowd’….but I really did enjoy myself…especially the cake and the opening of presents!
Here’s me remembering my 2nd birthday celebration through some photos!:

Hmmm...what shall I wish for?...
To the left, to the left..
To the right, to the right...

Hmmm....when can we open the presents?

My bro Collin and cousin Ethan really had a great time together!

yeah, the food too!
My strawberry vanilla cake....mmmmmm!
The live entertainment show...
Sing song time!

Looks like every kid wants to be in the fire brigade...:-P

Super big sundae on the house...it's even bigger than my head!

I got to sleep later that night too...because more presents awaited me at home! Wee!
