Choo! Choo!

You can call it the influence of Thomas or the Chuggington folks….or the numerous train lines that one can see in the city…whatever it is, there is just some kind of attraction between boys and trains that runs really deep.

So, you can imagine my excitement when Papa brought out a full set of wooden train track set for me to play, explore and create not too long ago. Apparently the set had been kept safe from me for quite some time already but Papa and Mama finally decided that I was old enough to play with it.

Lucky Caitlynn got to cash in the fun as well whenever I take out the tracks to play. :-)

Take a look at how much fun I can have when playing with one of my more favourite toys currently…

More Colourful Conversations with Collin

During our recent trip back in Sitiawan during the CNY break, Caitlynn and I were playing and making quite some noise..

Papa: Children! It’s late already….please don’t make so much noise.

Ah Por: Yeah. Silence is golden.

Me: Huh? Silence is golden?! What is that?

Papa: It’s just a saying…silence is golden.

Me: No la…silence is not golden.

Papa: Then, what is silence, Collin ?

Me: Silence is SHHHhhhhhhh…

——————-

Ah Por: Collin, what do you like to play at home?

Me: I like to play lego block, doodle board, masak-masak…

Ah Por: Orh! What food do you cook when you play masak-masak?

Me: Chicken, Soup, Fish…

Ah Por: Wah…next time Ah Por come to KL, Collin can cook for Ah Por, right?

Me: Huh?

Ah Por: Maybe Collin can cook Assam Fish for Ah Por to eat?

Me: No lah…..my fish is not real food lah. Toy only…

Ah Por: ?!

——————————-

Ah Ma: Collin, are you excited about your new little brother coming soon?

Me: Yes!

Ah Ma: When your Didi comes, Caitlynn will be promoted to Jiejie and you will be big brother to both Caitlynn and your new baby brother!

Me: Yeah!

Ah Ma: So Collin, remember you must always be a good role model to your Meimei and Didi, ok?

Me: OK. I will be good role model.

Ah Ma: You have to always take care of them OK?

Me: OK….but…

Ah Ma: But what, Collin?

Me: But then, who will take care of ME?!

Ah Ma: ?!!

—————————

After a bath, Papa started to put on a black T-Shirt with a baby Cheetah on the front.

Papa: Collin, do you know the cheetah is one of the fastest animals?

Me: Really? What about leopard?

Papa: The leopard is also part of the cat family, but it is not as fast as the cheetah.

Me: Orh….but this is only baby cheetah wor..

Papa: Yes, when it grows up it will become an adult and can run very fast lor..

Me: But how can the baby cheetah grow up wor? How?

Papa: What do you mean, Collin?

Me: The baby cheetah is on my shirt wor. How will it grow up?…

Papa: ?!!

Our CNY Diaries: Part 3/5

We continue our CNY Photo Diaries with…

…my BIRTHDAY CAKE! Woo Hoo! Well, it was actually a pre-4th Birthday celebration…but I don’t really mind at all! By the way, it was a cake of my own choosing, OK….Papa insists he had no influence whatsoever on my decision…

Enjoy photos of my simple pre-birthday do in Ipoh!

I huffed and puffed and..

Trust me..it is NOT easy cutting a football cake!

WAH!!!!

Eyes on the ball...eyes on the ball...

Can't keep my eyes off the ball! (Papa has taught me well..)

Hannah: Sigh....boys....

Then we proceeded to open some presents…and look what Papa and Mama got for me!

A mini guitar!….NOT! According to Papa, this is not a toy guitar, but is actually a real musical instrument called the UKULELE. Whew, that was a mouthful.:-P Anyway, Papa says he will try to learn how to play this as soon as he can and then teach me…:-D

I’m so excited because this UKULELE seems to be able to draw lotsa attention wor!

Oooh...nice strings! :-D

And of course there was more play time…like this new box of jigsaw puzzles…:-D

And that’s a wrap of my pre-4th birthday celebrations!

Shortly after, my cousins Ethan and Hannah followed their parents home. We also packed up and left Ipoh towards our next destination during this CNY period…

Where did we go? What did we do there?

Find out tomorrow! :-D

Our CNY Diaries: Part 2/5

Continuing our CNY Photo Diaries, we ushered in Day 1 of the Year of the Dragon in Ipoh with ang pows, lion dances, family photos, and more!. Enjoy!

The Chinese New became more fun in the afternoon when my cousins Ethan and Hannah came over with their Daddy and Mummy to play with us! :-D

After dinner, we all took a stroll over to Kinta City, Ipoh where they had a special lion dance performance…

Unfortunately, the plan kinda backfired because when we arrived the crowd had already taken all the best positions to view the show. Some more the noise was too loud and deafening! Caitlynn went immediately into her “Scared, Scared” mode….while I just closed my ears shut!

When we came home, a surprise was waiting for us all! A chocolatey-goodness birthday cake was brought out to pre-celebrate Ethan Koko’s birthday!

The birthday boy!

Day 2 of CNY started off with more silly and happy family photos!

And how can I have a reunion with Ehtan Koko without a pillow fight?…

Oops…since this is a family-friendly blog, I have decided to censor out the violence of our pillow fight…:-P

So who won  in the end? Who cares?! We were both hungry already! Let’s EAT!

So what did we eat? What happened next?

Stay tuned for tomorrow when all shall be revealed!

Our CNY Diaries: Part 1/5

Phew! It’s been exactly two weeks since Day 1 of Chinese New Year 2012 and both Caitlynn and I can still feel the fun, laughter, joys, etc. of everything that we did during that time. Oh yeah, we got pretty tired too at most nights..hee!

As usual, since it would be too long to blog every single detail of our CNY escapades, we will break up our CNY holiday wrap up in FIVE different parts – load them up with photos taken during this festive season.

Our Photo Diaries begins a day before the eve of CNY….

It was quite a journey from our home to Ah Ma/Ah Kong’s house in Ipoh. Funny, it didn’t feel this far before. Probably because we travelled in the afternoon this time. Papa decided to veer off the highway after seeing a stretch of cars not moving at all ahead shortly after the toll. Alas! The coastal road was just as bad as we crawled and crawled and crawled along up towards Ipoh.

I had also lost count of how many times or how many different kind of drains I had peed into during the journey. In a way, I was quite thankful we took the coastal/trunk road so Papa could very easily stop by the side of the road for such toilet emergencies..:-P

It was already evening and we had not even reached the trunk road yet. So Mama suggested that we stop over for dinner at this place called “Crossing Jungle” or Hutan Melintang. Surprisingly, they had quite a few seafood restaurants. Strange for a jungle to be popular with seafood, dontchu think?

Anyway, here’s where I stop babbling and post our photos taken from our dinner in Restoran Soon Kee..

By the time we reached Ipoh, it was already quite  late, but we’re happy to have arrived safely!

Fast forward a day later where Ah Ma and Ah Kong prepared some simple dishes for our nice little family reunion dinner – and I have to say all the food looked and tasted really yummy!

Check out my super appetite!

nom nom nom...

And that’s the end of Part 1! Stay tuned to see what happened during Day 1 of CNY tomorrow!

Driving Simulations

I enjoy every second of the time spent in Papa’s car. That’s when Caitlynn and I pick up plenty of valuable lessons like singing, talking and of course…driving!

Yup, when I pick up my toy frisbee, I will engage myself as the driver too, following the hand motions of Papa at every turn. So when Papa says he’s turning left or right, I would be able to learn immediately which is left or right too!

When Papa waves his hand at our friendly neighbourhood security guard, I will also do likewise.

When Papa turns on the signal switch, I will also do likewise and make a similar sound. :-P

I would also constantly have this debate with Papa on which one of our steering wheels is more nicer?  Papa would tend to say his has a horn, and I would say mine is more colourful…hee!

Now, hopefully after clocking some useful hours of simulation driving this way, I could convince Papa to let me have a  go at the real thing someday…hee!

Kindergarten: The Good and The Bad

After some two weeks + of tear-less days in my kindergarten, I have finally managed to collect my thoughts and reflected on the positives and negatives of kindergarten…

The GOOD:

- It’s only half a day!!

- I get extra “hug hug kiss kiss” from Papa when he drops me off. :-D

- Angie! My ‘big sister’ that looks after me!

- Teachers are pretty nice.

- I think I’m actually starting to enjoy drinking water!

- Mama’s sandwiches! Yummy!

- Big field with lotsa toys!

- Everyone seems like like my name-stitching on my bag! Hee!

The BAD:

- It’s still SCHOOL! :-(

- There’s homework! Sigh.

- Bad day when I vomitted in class. Good to note they have spare clothes on standby!

- Still cannot understand why school is much more than just ‘not crying’ Sigh.

- Food served is not really fantastic…

- The uniform…sigh. Actually I think the T-shirt version is pretty OK. :-P

- Still no close friends..:-(

- Mistakenly took back a water bottle that looks like Caitlynn’s…hehe….

Auto-Conversations with Collin

I have noticed a lot my funny and colourful conversations takes place when I’m inside the car…so this is a special and exclusive ‘auto’ edition of my Colourful Conversations with Collin series…enjoy!

Me: Papa..

Papa: Yes, Collin?

Me: You know I can drive a car one..

Papa: Really?

Me: Yeah…just like you!

Papa: Haha. I think you’re still too small to drive a car, Collin.

Me: I can one!

Papa: Do you have a driving licence?

Me: Yes, I got driving licence. Just like you!

Papa: Really?

Me: Yes, Both you and me can drive because we got driving licence.

Papa: Haha…ok..

Me: Only Mei Mei cannot drive.

Papa: Why not?

Me: Mei Mei don’t have driving licence.

Papa: Oh? Then does Mei Mei have any other licence?

Me: Erm…yes. Mei Mei only got sleeping licence…

Papa: ?!!

—————

Me: Papa…

Papa: Yeah, Collin?

Me: What road is this?

Papa: This highway or road is called Besraya.

Me: What?

Papa: Besraya.

Me: What is Besraya?

Papa: It’s just the name of this road.

Me: Why?

Papa: erm….Papa is not sure. It was probably just given the name when they built the road.

Me: Orh…so the road name is Besraya..

Papa: Yup..

Me: Just like Buzz Lightyear!

Papa:?!!!

—————-

Me: Papa….why are there so many bumps on the road one?

Papa: The bumps are there to make sure people drive slower and safer.

Me: Orh…

Papa: For example, people driving too fast will have to slow down when they approach a bump lor..

Me: Ahh…then how come train tracks no bumps one?

Papa: Erm…train tracks cannot have bumps because if they do, the trains will be derailed by the bumps..meaning the trains will be thrown off the tracks..

Me: Why wor?

Papa: The train is already moving so fast already. If there was a bump, it will surely be thrown off the tracks.

Me: Orh…but we can remove the bumps from the train track what.?

Papa: That’s why there are no bumps in your train track set, right?

Me: So, cars cannot be thrown off the road?

Papa: No, unless they are moving really fast..

Me: What if the train can move on the road wor?

Papa: Err…Trains cannot move on the road, Collin.

Me: Yeah, because if they reach a bump, they can fly away! Like rocket like that!

Papa: ?!!
