Our Melbourne Adventure (Day 4 of 8)

On Day 4 in Melbourne, Papa had to go off to work in the morning, so he had pre-arranged a Melbourne City Tour with Grayline. The tour would depart from the CBD area around noon and finish in the evening. These are the photo highlights of our mid-day tour…

The bus first took us for a quick look-see tour of the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the National Tennis Centre. We heard that Melbourne is a sports-crazy city with so many stadiums located within the city area! During our stay there, the F1 race as happening there, as was the ICC World Cricket Cup! Sports crazy indeed!

Our first main stop was then at the Shrine of Remembrance, which was a war memorial that commemorates the country’s fallen war heroes. A truly remarkable place with very rich historical lessons…

hmmm…when can I pluck those pretty flowers?…

…or maybe these ones?…

The tour then continued with a drive past the Etihad Stadium (yet another stadium!!), followed by crossing over Bolte Bridge to catch a view of Port Melbourne, as we made our way to St Kilda.

Our first stop in St Kilda was Acland Street, whcih was apparently famous for its pastries. We took a short tea and pastry break here…..

….before heading straight to St Kilda Beach! Yay! So much sand and space to run around, collecting sea shells…

….and get up close with the famous Brighton Bathing Boxes!

In the evening, when Papa came back, we all took the tram to check out other parts of the city area..

more pole dancing practice for Caitlynn…

….as we we waited for the tram…

Found Collins Street! Woo Hoo!

Yeah. It was pretty late and dark already when we returned to the hotel.

And that concludes Day 4! Stay tuned for Day 5 as we finally get to meet the real STAR of Melbourne…
