After my Sunday School classes ended last year, I sorta grew tired refreshing myself with the previous memory verses…so Papa and Mama decided that it would be a good time to teach me to memorise the Lord’s Prayer….which was kinda exciting because I hear the entire church reciting it every week.
So after weeks and weeks of reciting and memorising the Prayer chunk by chunk, I am proud to say that I can now confidently pray our Lord’s Prayer out loud!
About three Sundays ago, I fully participated and joined in the church in praying this family prayer together…and boy, did I feel on top of the world!
Here’s my chunk by chunk version of The Lord’s Prayer, with my personal notes in parenthesis…especially for those tougher chunks..) followed by the audio recording of my recital!
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father
Who art in Heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name (just like Paul Baloche’s song Your Name…)
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done on earth
As it is in Heaven
Give us this day our daily bread (I like bread)
And forgive us our trespasses (like sin – bad things, wrong things)
As we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation (attractive things that make us want to do wrong things)
But deliver us from evil (bad, bad things)
For Thine is the kingdom
And the power (like His power at work in us can do far more than we dare ask or imagine…memory verse from Ephesians 3 verse 20)
And the glory
Forever and ever
Amen.
