Last Friday, I survived an adventure I will never, ever forget..
It was the day I packed up enough courage and bravado in my suitcase, went to the hospital and had my knotted tongue released..
The day started earlier than usual. Papa and Mama had taken leave to see me through this op. Before the sun even came out, we were already packing up to leave the house. I was even barely awake myself!
Our first stop was to Auntie D’s house where Koko Collin was dropped off..possibly to reduce the noise levels in the hospital..tsk tsk.. Then, we made our way to the same hospital where Mama delivered me in November last year – Pantai Ampang. When we arrived and registered, it was about 8am. After a while, wewere escorted to the bedded room where I would be resting after the op. It was nice of the hospital to give us a two bedded room even though we opted for a four-bedded room. Hee! Guess my cute smile can still work charms this early in the morning..:-D

the longest wait...
It was a long wait after that…sigh. We did get a visit from this ‘anotherstatic’ doctor who was awkwardly trying to explain the dangers and risks involved in giving me some anotherstatic gas. Later, Papa mumbled that the 5 minute pep talk cost RM60…

tagged...i'm it!
My last feed was at 3am since doctor’s orders was that I was to fast for at least 4 hours before the op. So we waited..and waited…and waited…sigh. Even those metal bars on the bed was starting to look delicious… finally, a nurse came in and tagged me and I was told to prep up for the op. I was given this XXXXL sized hospital gown to wear. I think it was the same size as the one Koko Collin wore last time. Sad to see the hospital still didn’t make any effort to get smaller sized gowns since then. Anyhow, the gown made me feel colder and tense. Sure, the air cond in the room didn’t help either.
We were only called to go up to the theatre about 9.15am. Inside there, only one parent was allowed to bring me in so Mama took up the challenge! I was then given this cute headgear. Not sure if it was to keep me warm..or to prevent me from pulling out anymore hair.. Papa was sent off to a waiting lounge to wait in agony..

dressed for the theatre!
Inside the theatre, I am only able to remember being put to lay down before some gas overcame me…when I came to, I was already back in the earlier room with Papa and Mama. Whew! It was finally over! I still felt strangely more sleepy than usual after the op, so I really rested quite a lot that day.

it's over?!!
We left the hospital in the afternooon for more rest at home.

All in all, a truly scary experience, but now I can finally say it is not a knot no more! Hee!
Can’t wait to try out what new decibels I can reach with my newly released tongue!

it's over! yay!!

what a relief!!
