Me & Mama Friday!

I’mmature…

I wonder if I can be diagnosed as dual-identity complexity?

There are times when you look at my face, it will show a really matured and wise look. A look that goes beyond my years.

And within a split second, it will switch to my cheeky and immature look. Hehe. Sure is good to confuse people, huh?

So, do you think I’m mature or immature? Hee!

Bootylicious

Hey, check out my other cute booties Mama loves to let me wear. Personally, I think these are way cuter than the football socks.

Methinks shopping for shoes will be way cool activity when I grow up. Hehe. What do you think?

Mr Fruity!

My appetite has definitely picked up since my confinement days in Sitiawan. Not only am I able to eat at a much faster pace these days, I’m also starting to enjoy frutis. Almost everyday I get to taste new types of fruits, it’s like living in a fruit orchard! I also like the way the fruits are always cut in small small bite sized chunks for me. Sure makes me feel special. Hee!

Some of my favourite fruits now include papayas, bananas ( i used to hate this!), starfruit, grapes, apples, oranges, guava, pomelo, pear, persimmon, and a few others I don’t even know their names!

Just call me Mr. Fruity! Hee!

A Good Hand?

Playing cards and CNY always seem to go hand in hand, I noticed.

That kinda got me thinking a bit. Going only as far back as my immediate cousins, if each of us was to be made into a playing card, we would actually have quite a good hand in say, straight poker! Confused? Read on!

Hannah and I would be two females, and Ethan and Collin would be two males. That would make a seriously good hand of two pairs! One more addition and we would have a FULL HOUSE! I wonder what the hidden last card is? Hee!

Looking at the months we were born in, I was born in November, Ethan in January, Collin in February and Hannah in March. So, although a STRAIGHT FLUSH (comparing our dates of birth) is definitely out of the question, our hand is still in a position to score a STRAIGHT, if the fifth card (new addition) would be born in December…

Kinda interesting how poker can be integrated into life, eh? Hee!

Note: Yes, Papa has been patiently imparting his poker knowledge to us….shhhhhhh

Of Blood, Sweat and Tears…

What an eventful CNY for me indeed. Over my one-week holiday in Ipoh and Sitiawan, I received the following…

..red packets...and MORE red packets! Love these Ang Pows! :-D

...a surprise pre-birthday celebration! Wee! So much fun!

...hampers to tear open! they are still taller than me though...hmmph!

...breathing in natural seaside breeze and air!

chasing (and being chased) and posing with real-life chickens!

...tripping over and had an accident with the coffee table, cutting a deep gash near my left eye, on the day before we left for KL...

...blood, sweat and tears to end my CNY holiday...sigh...

Children’s Book Give-Away!

As a toddler who just celebrated my second birthday yesterday (hint hint..:-D), I have come to realise of how critical the development of a child’s reading habit can be these days! Getting the right book at the right age is as important as mommies choosing that perfect complimenting lipstick or daddies picking out that correct matching tie before they go out!

No doubt in this day and age, we have other forms of media like the Internet and TVs that also provide rich sources of knowledge, but after a while, they can prove to be quite a sore to the eyes and also induce boredom too. I mean, how often can a child ‘poke’ each other on Facebook, or sit through countless repeats of the Hot Dog Dance, right? At the end of the day, a good old-fashioned book (regardless of its many new rich variants of pop-ups, glitters, musically-chimed, etc.) is what every child needs!

The Little Red Reading Nook is one such place where you can find a wide variety of good children’s books in the comfort of your own home. The books here are also very competitively priced and is complete with simple yet comprehensive reviews for you to consider before you make your choice!

Believe you me, with sites like the Little Red Reading Nook, toddlers like me would never again be denied access to such wonderful books, and my precious time would be spent beneficially reading books filled with knowledge at my reading level, instead of being thrown in the ‘deep-end of the pool’ with those huge sheets of carbon adults like to read everyday. Sigh.

I had almost given up hope when I read that the Little Red Reading Nook had recently undergone a beautiful makeover and is organising its very FIRST ever children’s book give-away contest! Exactly what I need to develop my young reading brain cells! Seriously! Hee!

The Grand Prize is  Maisy’s Home & Garden Pop-up & Play Book (selling at major bookstores at RM 79.90). There will also be a Special BONUS prize in the form of a Children’s Book Hamper if over 100 entries are received for this giveaway. Last but not least, the best blog entry will receive a Hello Kitty Mystery Gift Hamper sponsored by Huiwearn Kids Store.

Are you excited now as well? Hee! To participate in this fantastic book give-away, simply swing over now to the the Contest Site page on the Little Red Reading Nook! Full details are there on how you can try your luck in this wonderful give-away!

The winner will be selected randomly so the higher the number of entries you have, the better the chances of you winning! Remember, deadline is 3 March 2010! So, do join in and heed the national agenda of becoming a reading nation! Hee!

Here’s randomly hoping my entry is randomly picked! :-D

24 Moon Celebration!

Wee! I’m exactly TWO years old today!!

I heard from somewhere that a simple formula to calculate the actual height of an adult would be to see how tall that person is at the age of TWO, and then simply multiply it by erm, what else, TWO!

So, since I am now around 90cm in height, I should be able to shoot up to only about 180cm as an adult. Sigh…not even 6 feet?!! Sigh…should have listened to Mama more and finished up my vegetables earlier. :-( Well, at least, I should be taller than Papa. Hehe..:-D

Anyway, Papa & Mama pulled off a simple celebration for me a few days back on the first day of CNY when Koko Ethan and family were in town as well. I was totally in-sync with the CNY celebrations in my traditional chinese outfit. Apart from the lovely cartoon butter cake and pressies, Ah Ma and Ah Kong also prepared ‘lam mee’, which I found out was a traditional birthday dish for the Chinese. Mmmmmm! I sure had a blast that day! Here are the pictures of my re-collection..

The birthday cake! unfortunately, I couldn't eat those decor toys...

Papa helping me to blow out the candle...hee!

The customary group photo...:-P

We got party hats too!!! Wee!

The dynamic masked crusaders made an appearance too...:-D

Hannah looking disturbed by our antics...:-p

Opening my pressies...more toys to play with! Wee!!

Time to say goodbye...Ethan Koko, thanks for stopping by!

Smile of the Day!

The men in my life…

…always come very close to me (sometimes even within inches of my face..)
…make strange sounds to my face…
…loves to stroke my cheeks
…loves to wriggle my hands and legs
…is always a comforting sight (though sometimes scary..)
…enjoys carrying and cradling me
…loves watching me sleep
…runs to me when I cry, vomit, groan, etc.

Thank you, Papa & Koko Collin…the men in my life.
